So this is what happened yesterday. I had a holiday task which I found sooo overwhelming. Not due to the complexity or hugeness of it, but due to the fact that I hate the module so badly. Initially I postponed doing it for an hour, then to 2 hours, then to a few hours until soon the postponement snowballed into, hold your breath, 3 days!!!!
Yesterday I felt so flustered I decided to go for a small walk and do some sketching (Talk about chronic procrastination). Despite the fact that none was actually done from the chunk of my super-fabulous holiday task, I managed to be a little bit productive by making one sketch. The image was taken from this pasar malam spot (Night market in English) near d'Loft (its an apartment for students nearby). It is a local event held at the end of every month and it is sort of a local enjoyment here coz not only you can pick up some real bargains like very very cheap daily necessities but you can also find rides for children (I only spotted 2 though).
I admit the sketch is pretty much disorganized (please spare me some lenience will ya) but hey! It was produced out of the desperation of this poor soul yapping for a heavenly help (please please someone tell me that this isn't happening. There is no such thing as Report submission on the first day of the new college term *sniff*).
Maybe... I should go for a massage! *again?

Leaarrnnn
I knew that I learn easier whenever I see diagrams, colors and pictures, and heard that in the learner category I fall into the 'visual learners' type. So I googled the phrase 'learning style quiz' and found this quiz thingy at the top of the page. The quiz is relatively easy to do and the result it gave gives you a pretty clear picture on how to utilize your potential in a specific learning technique. Check the quiz out here: http://www.educationplanner.org/education_planner/discovering_article.asp?sponsor=2859&articleName=Learning_Styles_Quiz
Sooo as expected, I am a visual learner. Now I know why my brain cells automatically switch to dormant mode every time I see plain, boring handouts and books.

Beauty In Destruction
Yellow English Learners!
To gain a better share in the English-training industry, I recently ordered a pack of name cards from my childhood friend, Ruby. She told me in our primary school reunion a few months ago that she accepts orders for making designs. I grabbed the opportunity (as I was pretty impressed by the portfolio she brought) and quickly ordered her design for my name card.
I wanted a concept of relaxed-professionalism which the card can intrinsically show to the receiver that I am teaching English in the most flexible manner, meaning that I am not restricted to a certain age, gender, level of English learner, group size or even profession (like, telling them that I can basically teach any age, group size, any level of English learner---beginner to advance---or profession). A few designs came up, and tadaaah! This one was the one that I picked. Reason being, I like the usage of yellow as a representation of mood (relaxed and cheery) and (okay this is pretty minor) I like the tiny little arrow beside the words 'Speak English' ahahahaha.
Speaking of that too, 'Speak English' stands as a motto that I strongly uphold, cause to be a good English speaker people need to, well, speak English! Thus the placement of those words in my beautiful card. So peeeepol, SPEAK ENGLISH!

Super Tips For The Galau-ers
Feeling galau? (meaning: disturbed and anxious)
Super tips to overcome it!
1. Grab anything non-destructive to express it
Can be anything. Paper and pencil, moulding blocks, anything. Just be sure you are not hurting yourself or doing anything damaging to yourself.
2. Walk people, walkk
Whenever I feel this way, I will just walk. As long as I want, doing and thinking about nothing. My longest durations are 4-hour walk from CitraLand Mall to Kemang and 3.5 hour walk from Binus University to Pasar Mayestik. You may risk looking like a troubled lunatic but still, this way of releasing your anxiousness is pretty much constructive rather than destructive. You get to exercise more and you are isolated from your own little world of thought for a while.
3. Write
This is another thing that I always do. I write whatever I think or feel, and it makes me feel even better when people do not have the right to judge it. This doesn't mean that I am advising you to bombard your friend's space with your drama-queenish stats every now and then, but what I mean is to find a limited media (which, essentially, not disturbing anyone's spaces and peace by your unstability) where you can express yourself a little bit more. I know that social networks and media nowadays are so prone to judgment by people and you may feel hesitant to do so due to that. Well it works for me and it may to you too, but you know. people may have different opinions. Its good to post everything positive in your public space but posting something that genuinely expresses your feeling to the very true core of it does show that you are a human being, not a positively-programmed-motivation-tv-show-host.
